AMSE, Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Atomic Energy Merit Badge offered by AMSE.  Contact is Glenda Bingham, gbingham@amse.org or 865-576-3200.  Full day program. Overnight accomodations available at Camp Buck Tom and Camp Pellissippi.  Point of contact for camps is Jennifer.Williams@scouting.org

The program at AMSE teaches the basics of nuclear energy, radiation, atoms, and nuclear reactors, using a hands-on approach.  Scouts use Geiger Counters to make measurements, search for hidden radioactive sources, and use a workbook to meet requirements of the badge.  $7.00 per Scout, $5.00 per adult.
